Very disappointing! After having dining here successfully several times prior, I was absolutely disgusted with my experience this evening. After being seated and served our drinks we noticed a dead fly as well as dozens of ants crawling on the window sill. We were then moved to another table on the other side of the restaurant. Again, there were ants crawling in the window sill. I shared this with the manager, who shared with me that the ants were hit or miss. Really? He then asked me if I wanted him to call his pest control guy. I couldn't even focus on the quality of the food, as I was repulsed by the ants and even more so by the manager's attitude.

BLT awful. No bacon, 2 slices of tomato and lettuce. Not worth the 8.50 plus tax. Food below average. Just a mediocre sports bar

Let's start with the fries were very good thus the 1 star. Flatbread was terrible. Service was less than average. Had a dirty rack of glasses right in front of me on the bar the entire night. The bar was so dirty it was sticky. It was Thursday night of the sweet sixteen NCAA basketball games and they didn't have a clue the games were on. Several people had to ask for them to put the games on. YOU ARE A SPORTS BAR! March madness is second only to the super bowl...maybe. And then they started in with the very loud, obnoxious trivia I would expect at a hick bar. I could not stand the high pitched, never-ending torture - like noise and had to leave. My team was playing and I left! This bar is run by someone who does not know what they are doing or doesn't care. They only exist because of location. I will not go again. Gross!

Since the new owner took over, food quality and service have taken a nosedive. The fun crowds of 2012 are no more. Don't expect Ed's to last too long.

Not at all impressed. Christi, Bartender. Displays excellent people skills.(Good Asset to Their Facility). Ordered a Cosmo w/a Twist of Lemon Rind. You'd be surprised at how Bartending Skills can be assed. By ordering the traditional. Not the House Creations. That have a recipe handbook. Moving on. Salad is "Ok". Not a wow:-( Cosmo had to be remade. Due to very sour from lime. It was ordered w/lemon rind. If you do not mind. Louddd:-&@#% And, generally I don't care. But, every TV is blasting out on different Games. I actually understand why it's difficult for the employees to get the orders right. THEY CANT HEAR WHAT YOUR SAYING!? Main Street is a great place. But, this one is off my list:-(

I've never been here before but we decided to go and get some dinner because it was raining pretty hard after our movie. I did not enjoy myself. I had the garlic chicken fingers basket. There was nothing "fingery" about them. They were full on chicken breasts fried to a golden brown. They were too big. And there was three of them. They were very greasy. Reminded me of the overly battered and fried fried pickles at Lady and Sons in Savannah, Georgia. Made me queasy. Needless to say I didn't finish my basket. The French fries were okay and seasoned appropriately. Didn't even come close to finishing those either. We were "drive by Waitressed." Our waitress would come by to ask if everything was okay and not even stop at the table. I was not happy with that. She was nice otherwise though. The beer was good according to my husband. They got that going for them, anyway. Probably will not return.

Just mehh...We went tonight with 4 kids, me and my wife. Me and the kids all had wings, which were good. The only complaint I have was the sauce on the wings. I ordered the calypso sauce which I was told was a combination of sweet and heat. But there was no sweet. They were just hot. Service was good at first but when it got more crowded, water and beer glasses stayed empty for a while. Overall it was OK, will probably go back just a little bit of a foodie and looking for a wow factor. Yes, wow factors can exist even at sports bars, but just not here.

Yelp makes me put one star but I wish to put zero. This restaurant is awful!! Do not go!! After thinking, how can you mess up bar food? Well they messed it up. And the service is beyond awful! Had to beg to place an order, get water refills and had to stand up to finally get the check. The owner came over and did NOT care that we were not satisfied. He had a blank look stare like he hears 10 times a day how bad his restaurant sucks. I am not usually this dissatisfied but felt the need to yelp a review-that's how bad it is.

I am so upset, I don't know what to say. I have consumed Stella all over the world and have NEVER been charged the prices that Ed's charges. I just moved here from Miami and have never paid more than $15 a pitcher (and $15 was obscene as far as I was concerned). Ed's charged $20 a pitcher! $20! Twenty dollars TWENTY DOLLARS FOR A PITCHER OF BEER!!! Ed should be ashamed of himself. As a LECOM student, I don't know if I will ever return.

Fun Bar/Restaurant to go to. Have gone out with friends later at night and taken my family in the evening. Good menu variety if You want bar type foods. Location is nice because it's next to movie theater. Good neighborhood bar.

We were a group of 3. We had Fried pickles, spinach fried wontons, and jalapeño poppers. All three of these items tasted like you went to a frozen section if a dollar store and baked them in your oven, and that was a good part of a meal. We also got nachos that I think if I tried I wouldn't be able to make more bland. I won't visit again and with other options nearby i would recommend another place.

Very reasonable food and beer prices. My husband loved his burger. My Cheesesteak was very adequate, could just use a tad more cheese. The mac and cheese side dish is very good.

Went here for the first time this past Friday. Nice looking bar. Lots of TV's. Good place to watch a game and they had some good beer specials....then we came in contact with the employees. The service was some of the worst we have had in a long time. The waitress was miserable, the bartenders were miserable. Basically it seemed like everyone that was working there didn't want to be there....so we won't be there either.

Went there for dinner tonight. Kind of noisy, but that is to be expected in a sports bar on St. Patrick's Day. Food was ok, service was fine, but I was not prepared to have to argue over a "Bradenton Dealsaver" coupon I had purchased for $10 which had a $20 coupon value. I purchased this coupon on 10/15/2012 for $10 and the couoon value ($20) expired 2/28/2013. I was fully aware of that, but it clearly states on the coupon that "paid value does not expire." That made no difference to the proprietor who said once the coupon expires, it expires. He claimed he made no agreement to accept any coupon after expiration. The bottom line is that I left without using the coupon. I thought about not leaving a tip, but that would not be fair to the waitress who had nothing to do with the issue. Now that we know how fair and honest this place is, I would be careful and read all the fine print before going there again. I suspect he might have been a used car dealer before going into the restaurant business. No matter how decent the food is or service might be, I'd rather take my business to someone who's fair and honest and I suggest you do too.

I was not certain I would like this place, but my wife and I wanted a place to eat before out movie next door. What a surprise this was. The two times I have eaten here I have had excellent pub food. I don;t mind paying slightly extra for that. Atmosphere is OK too. Call it 4.5 stars,

I was planning to write "safe" American food, but then I remembered biting into a chicken wing from their food tent at a Lakewood Ranch event and feeling sick to my stomach when I tasted fishy meat instead of chicken. Maybe they were frying their meats in the same oil? Whatever it was, it wasn't right. My recommendation is to avoid their food tents. I've dined at their restaurant a couple times though before then and it was pretty forgettable. Neither good nor bad, thus the A-OK rating.

Went there last night, after waiting 15 mins. Went inside to get menus and asked if we could get a server. Waited another 15 mins with nobody taking a drink order much less a food order. Needless to say we walked out! To add insult to injury, 1 waitress actually stood 5' away from us listening to the music on the street!!

  • Jennifer K.

Food is average. Place is always packed. Friday and saturdays they have live music. Just recently I was disappointed with the food. I ordered a bleu cheese burger medium and they gave me a well done burger.

Loud sports bar and good folks run the place.... say hi to Jason when you visit. Good food and not many places offer cucumber salad that takes me back home! Nice place to watch sports but would be nice to support local teams?!?!?? Great addition atmosphere but loud so be prepared. Nice sitting outside when the weather is nice and live music is good here, too. Can't get more comfortable place rubbing elbows with regular down to earth folks considering the normal crowd in LWR. Glad to see this here and always a good place to unwind.

Went to Ed's to watch game 7 of the NBA finals and they had the game playing on many of the TV's. Right after the game started, they turned off the volume of the game to play trivia. What kind of a bar plays trivia during game 7 of the NBA finals?! Asked the manager to play the sound of the game during the Trivia lulls and they wouldn't play it at all. Food was also sub-par. I don't recommend this place at all.

Ed's has bland food anything you want from a apparently all Sysco inspired menu. Better than 7-eleven dining but not as yummy as a Wa-Wa. However the drinks were not bad, overall a decent place to take in a game

What to do after wine tasting at wine styles? Try out Ed's Tavern, at least that was my plan last night. Ed's has been in the main street area of lakewood ranch for at least a year or so now. So I'm sure they would have the kinks worked out by now. A bit loud when you come in but typical for this kind of "bar" place. A few tables are outside but as the summer is getting started we sat inside. A decent selection of beers, but a few darker ones would be more to my liking. We tried the fish and chips, the house salad and the "big meltdown", which was a roast beef sandwich with melted cheese and horseradish sauce. Since I've been fooled by "melted" cheese at other places in the area I had to ask the waitress, "is this real cheese or some kind of wacky cheese sauce?" She assured me it was real melted cheddar. The food was pretty good and slightly better than I expected. The sandwich was flavorful and yummy. Just enough kick in the sauce. Fish and chips were good but standard fare. The tomatoes on the salad needed help but the rest was pretty good. A fairly reasonable and good place. the service was actually pretty darn good so some extra points there. Better than boogies, which has a similar set up, but it is not going to change the way you look at food or anything like that, but they aren't going for that anyways. I'll be back for a beer, I'm sure.

Great staff, place always has something going on, and it's nice to see a place in Lakewood Ranch that isn't full of a bunch of 80 year olds. Awesome brand new outdoor seating. Food is good pub food, love those disco fried. $2 dos equis, can't beat that.

Not so much... Once here is enough. Loud, cramped seating, and inexperienced wait staff.

Pretty basic bar. I don't hate it. They have amazing pulled pork BBQ though.

Continue to improve, Great beer and prices & specials food is good quick friendly service. The only complaint it can be loud and noisy some nights. Late night menu is a plus.

Closest thing I've come to a neighborhood dive bar in Lakewood Ranch (and really, there's nothing dive about it). BUT they serve Pabst, which is a sure way to my heart ($2 tall boys every day!) AND they have mac and cheese bites, which if you have never had, are the ultimate drinking food. Menu is pretty basic bar-fare, and hard to go wrong with, and they have a pretty extensive drink selection. Food and drink specials every night, which is great. Lots of TVs, and it gets rowdy on game days, which is fun since Florida team loyalties are so split up with people from all over. Staff is super nice and keep the drinks coming. The best part is that they stay open late, which in Lakewood Ranch is a rare miracle.

I've eaten here 3 or 4 times now. Aside from being a real convenient spot to stop just before a movie next door at the Lakewood Ranch Cinema, I would never go out of my way to eat here. Not bad, just not great. I've had the wings a couple of times and it's a nice twist that they throw them on the grill after the standard deep fry and saucing- they just don't grill them long enough. Spied some good looking onion rings at the next table so I gave them a try. Had they been delivered promptly out of the fryer I could give them good marks but the heavy batter when barely warm was too heavy and a bit greasy. $2 Yuengling draft special on Saturdays? I'm in. Not sure if it was ordered and sat too long or if they need to do some maintenance on their draft lines, but it was nearly flat and barely cold. Next time, I'll plan accordingly and get great wings down the street at Casa di Pizza!
